Install process
Threaded inserts with locking keys
High-strength threaded inserts in AISI303 1.4305 stainless steel passivated. As standard they are available in metric coarse pitch, metric fine pitch, UNC-UNF and other materials and / or surface treatments on request.
They are in Free Running or Locking version, the self-locking version has a Dry-Lube surface treatment.
They have 2 or 4 locking keys which once positioned make the insert mechanically locked against unscrewing from rotation or vibrations. They are used to obtain high strength threads on different materials, from light alloys to steels or to repair damaged threads.
They can be installed in a simple way as the host thread is standard so it does not require the use of special taps, they can be removed and replaced if necessary.
The inserts are supplied with the locking keys already positioned inside the grooves. The pre-positioned keys ensure that by screwing the insert it automatically positions itself at the correct installation depth.
Drill with a standard drill bit and countersink at 82 ° -100 ° with a standard countersink tool
Tap with a standard tap
Screw in the insert by hand or with its installation tool (the insert automatically stops at the correct installation depth)
Using the installation tool, drive the anchoring locking keys into the material using a hammer or press
Removal process
Drill with a standard drill to remove the material holding the anchor locking keys in place (see catalog tables for drill diameter)
Flex the keys inside and break them
Unscrew the insert with an extraction tool
Screw in a new insert exactly the same as the one removed and drive the keys in correspondence with the slots of the previous ones
